Is the Samsung Blackjack II the Top Smartphone?

Here's an interesting piece of information for Smartphone users. Consumer Reports' January 2009 ratings of popular Smartphones lists the Samsung Blackjack II at the top spot. Do you agree with this rating?

Here are the top five Smartphones according to Consumer reports.
  1. Samsung Blackjack II
  2. T-Mobile Wing
  3. Motorola Q9C
  4. T-Mobile Shadow
  5. Blackberry Pearl Flip

After browsing the web for reactions to the Samsung Blackjack II being named by the Consumer Reports as the top Smartphone, I discovered that the reactions were mixed. Some say that the Samsung Blackjack II deserved the top spot.

Some websites also think that Consumer Reports' ratings of popular Smartphones which lists the Samsung Blackjack II at the top spot is totally out of touch. The ratings did not include many Smartphones like the BlackBerry Bold or Storm, Samsung OMNIA, or all of the HTC Touch Pro so maybe they have a point. The ratings also rated the 3G iPhoneand the T-Mobile G1well below the Samsung Blackjack II which surprised a lot of observers.

Anyway, I think we need to take a closer look at the Samsung Blackjack II, a Smartphone that has little fanfare but seems to be popular and considered among the best in the market.

The Samsung BlackJack II is of course the update to the original BlackJack. This Smartphone has Quad-band GSM radios and a sleek design with a QWERTY keyboard. The Samsung BlackJack II is a business-class handset that performs well.

The popular Samsung BlackJack II also provides GPS, HSDPA data , and an improved WinMo 6.1 OS This Smartphone also carries a 2-megapixel camera with zoom and adds a nice looking 2.4" landscape QVGA display. Other top features for the Samsung BlackJack II includes stereo Bluetooth, music player and memory card slot. It's also notable to say that the Samsung Blackjack II doesn't have Wi-Fi which is a bit disappointing.

Some observers of the C
onsumer Reports' ratings of popular Smartphones believe that the Samsung BlackJack II deserve the top rating. After all it is indeed popular and is offered at the very affordable price of only $80 on an AT&T contract. The Samsung BlackJack II performs well and is used by a lot of people so it justifiable to place it at the top of the Consumer Reports' ratings.

Well, I agree that the Samsung BlackJack II is in the top 5 Smartphones but I also think that the iPhone should also make it to the top five. That's it for this post. Tune in to this blog for more mobile phone news and updates.
