3G iPhone Hot News

Now that the 3G iPhone has finally landed, I thought that it would be fun to posts the latest news. I have read about various news on the 3G iPhone and not all of them are good.

Let's begin with some hot iPhone news from Apple. Apple has reported that it sold its one millionth iPhone 3G . Steve Jobs proudly announced that, “iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend. It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world.”

Well, I think that this is not a total surprise. With all the hype surrounding it, there's no doubt that the iPhone 3G will sell well. The fact that it's also being offered in more than twenty countries around the world helped Apple to sell one million 3G iPhone units. The success of the original iPhone also paved the way for the next generation device.

Apple has also reported that the iPhone Apps Store is also a big success. More than 10 million applications from the new App Store were down loaded by Phone and iPod touch customers. The App Store now has more than 800 native applications, including over 200 offered for free. Customers also dis the fact that more than 90 percent of the applications are being offered for less than $10. I think the success also relied on the successful Apple hands4eeets and devices.

However, it's not all good news for Apple. The early reviews for the 3G iPhone are less than impressive. There were some complaints about the device's battery life. Apparently, 3G networks uses up a lot of energy and the new iPhone battery couldn't keep up. There were also complaints about the new software, GPS and on the activation process. There were some customers that lamented the lack of some features on the next generation iPhone.

To quell some of the negative rumors being leveled at their product, iPhone marketing head Greg Joswiak released some statements. He revealed that the iPhone maker has an internal priority list of features for the next generation device. Unfortunately, copy/paste support was not included, even though Apple went far down the feature priority list with the 3G version.

The head of iPhone marketing also clarified that there are no technical issues preventing turn-by-turn directions with the 3G iPhone's GPS feature. Joswiak also indicated that he is unaware of any technical reasons why an office suite isn't already in the App Store. He also admitted that the lack of a cross-application file structure could impede development on the device.
