Alltel's new Touchscreen Phone

Alltel has just entered the touchscreen phone scene with the release of the Samsung R800 Delve.

Touchscreen phones are at the top of the mobile phone pyramid. These touch sensitive phones hold the top spot on the cell phone hierarchy. The Samsung Delve is a TouchWiz device. That means it has a TouchWiz interface that allows users to customize and personalize their phone using widgets. This user interface also enables users to drag and drop applications to the phonetop of the device.

This new Alltel mobile phone features a sleek bar-style design dominated by a 3-inch touch display with haptic feedback. It also offers a software QWERTY keyboard for faster messaging and email composition. It's a slim device with minimal physical keys.

The Samsung Delve R800 also offers a great set of features. It has a 2 megapixel camera with video capture for those memorable moments. It also offers a standard 3.5mm headset jack which allows users to plug in their favorite headphones. It also offers an expansive a 500-contact phone book and personal organizer options.

Alltel subscribers can get the Samsung R800 Delve touchscreen phone for $250 on a 2-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. They can pre-order this new Alltel touch sensitive handset starting on October 30. The device will officially hit the stores on November 7.
